I think we all liked the COC book much more because we could all relate to it, but ISOCF is just another view of Christanity.

Question
by QuestioningEverything ini am having trouble getting my posts to show up, guess i'll get better with time.
i have a question- ray franz wrote his book in the 1980's.
he said that the gb used a 2/3's vote to enact new policies, etc.

I am certain that nothing has changed, about a month ago we had a WT on "Yielding" which basically means "give way" "Surrender". The WT conductor mentioned that in an Elders meetings (or committee) an Elder will yield if the other Elders agree on a matter.
Basically it’s another way of Voting, I find it almost amusing how they make their actions look theocratic but if someone else does it, they make it look worldly.

I used to bring a picnic basket with coffee and biscuits for everyone, they all loved it and looking forward to it, but there was an Elders wife who always make it uncomfortable for us by nagging us about not counting our time during the break, as if it was any of your business! , I once told her off, the silly cow .

Is it wrong to burn people to death?
by DoomVoyager ini'm an avid reader of steve wells' blog on religion and atheism.
this article discusses the hebrew god (we all know him as joe hoobie) and his propensity for burning people to death.

Yes it is wrong.
People will do the most cruel thing to other people, as long as they believe they have no Man to answer to.
And if they believe they have God's approval then God help us !!!!!!

Men. In poistions of authority. Where does it all go wrong?
by jambon1 inin the congregation.
why do so many of those in authority go so badly wrong?
like, really badly wrong.
-
The Lone Ranger
When it comes to giving men authority, you need to ask, what real qualifications do they have in the first place.
Most are uneducated, and all you really need to do to become an elder is to stay out of trouble and stay in the good books with the other elders.
As far as doing Good is concerned, you need to ask yourself, how many really are God fearing? Do they really believe that God will one day examine what they’ve done or do they believe that God approves of whatever they do just because they are elders?
The more you study the Pharisees the more you can see how an Elder thinks.

New York Post article: Study shows you're born that way (gay or straight)
by feenx in(sorry about that last post peeps, silly mac's sometimes fight with this forum :/)
brain study proves 'you are born that way' post wire services .
june 17, 2008 -- the brains of gay men and women look like those found in straight people of the opposite sex, research suggests.

I think people will find what they want to find.
But if you beleive in God then a Gay can't be born that way, because God can't condem what he created.
